
Lafarge appoints senior leaders for Canadian operations

Construction Skills DevelopmentThe Lafarge Group has appointed its president and CEOs for Canadian operations.
René Thibault has been hired to oversee Canada’s four western provinces (B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba) as well as the Yukon, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, while Bob Cartmel will oversee Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador and the three Maritime provinces.
Thibault has worked for Lafarge for more than 20 years in Canada and Paris, France, and has an engineering degree from Queen’s University and completed executive studies at Harvard Business School.
Cartmel has more than 25 years of experience with Lafarge, working in Canada, the U.S. and Latin America. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
