Improvements coming for B.C. highway

A $3.4-million contract for improvements to Highway 6 near Nelson, B.C. was recently awarded to Interoute Construction Ltd.

The Crescent Valley, B.C.-based company will resurface approximately 14 kilometres of Highway 6, between Euphrates Mine and Nelson.

The contract also includes the resurfacing of the Observatory Street overpass and Highway 31 at Coffee Creek wall.

The work will include: shoulder repair and improvements, drainage improvements, and repairs to the road base where necessary; and will being this month. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of September 2012.
