The North American Blaw-Knox paver business is changing hands.
Volvo Construction Equipment said July 31 it has agreed to set the road paving equipment brand and several associated assets to Gencor Industries, which is best known for its asphalt plants.
“With our already strong position in the asphalt industry, this acquisition will afford Gencor access to the venerable brand of Blaw-Knox, and provide an entry into the hot mix paver segment,” Marc Elliott, Gencor’s president and director, said in a release, adding that the company is committed to the long-term development of the equipment brand.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the companies said the agreement is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year.
Volvo CE acquired Blaw-Knox in 2007 as part of its purchase of Ingersoll Rand’s road machinery business.
Gencor plans to continue marketing and servicing Blaw-Knox pavers through certain Volvo CE dealers throughout North America.
