The Government of Canada awarded a $15 million contract to ARUP Canada Inc. for engineering and coordination services for the new St. Lawrence River bridge.
The work involves bridge, highway and traffic engineering, environmental protection, urban and corridor integration, architectural quality, preparing procurement documentation and general management assistance.
When complete, the new St. Lawrence River bridge will replace the existing Champlain Bridge in Montreal, which connects Montreal island to the south shore.
With more than $20 billion in international trade crossing it each year, the Champlain Bridge is Canada’s busiest.
