Contractor helps renovate courtyard space for Calgary medical centre.

EllisDon has completed the renovation of the new North Terrace Respite Space at the Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) in Calgary and officially gave the area back to the hospital in a ribbon cutting ceremony last week.

To show its appreciation for the healthcare workers, staff and volunteers that have risked so much through the pandemic, the contractor decided to organize this project.

Multiple EllisDon subtrades helped make this a reality with design work, construction expertise and materials, allowing this upgraded respite area to come to fruition to provide a bit of relief to weary healthcare workers.

With the fourth wave of COVID-19 upon us, EllisDon has teamed up with the Calgary Health Foundation and Oxford Properties to raise funds in order to create these types of outdoor courtyard spaces for multiple hospitals across Calgary, including Rockyview General Hospital, Peter Lougheed Centre, and the South Health Campus.

This is not the first time EllisDon has stepped up during the pandemic. In late-May, the company helped organize a vaccination clinic.
