MISSISSAUGA, Ont.—EllisDon Corp. announced June 11 it’s expanding the role of David Klassen, the current senior vice-president of Design-Build.

Along with maintaining his responsibilities within the Design-Build business unit, Klassen will now head up EllisDon’s Construction Sciences division, also as senior vice-president. The unit serves as the technical bridge between conceptual design and execution and helps identify new methods, equipment and materials that could be put to use of job sites.

“I’m excited to work with this incredibly dynamic group while embracing new opportunities and taking the team to new heights,” Klassen said in a release.

Klassen first joined EllisDon in 1989 as a co-op student and has spent the majority of his 30-year tenure as a key part of the P3 projects the company has pursued. The Toronto South Detention Centre, New Oakville Hospital, Pan-AM Village and the Joseph Brant Redevelopment project are among the many projects he’s worked on.
