AECOM has appointed Rod Conde operations manager for the infrastructure consulting firm’s Buildings + Places business in Calgary. An award-winning architect with over 22 years of diverse experience, Conde has worked with a variety of design scopes, delivery models, building scales and complexities over his career, including projects for local and international clients in the retail, light industrial, residential, and institutional sectors.

“Rod’s broad architectural and project management background across all phases of design and construction is a great addition to our team in Western Canada,” said Walter Gaudet, senior vice-president and lead of AECOM’s Canadian Buildings + Places business. “As our Calgary operations lead, I look forward to him providing strong strategic direction and leadership to drive growth in the Alberta market, to the benefit of our clients, partners and employees.”

Prior to joining AECOM, Conde was an associate and senior project manager with a Canadian architectural, engineering, interior design and planning firm. In this role, he led a multi-disciplinary energy team that delivered retail projects for major oil and gas clients, including serving as team lead on an electric vehicle charger upgrade program for one of Canada’s largest integrated oil companies. He also established his own architectural firm in El Salvador, where he delivered commercial and retail facility projects across Latin America while complying with his clients’ global image standards.

“I am thrilled to join AECOM and look forward to expanding the strengths and presence of our Buildings + Places business in Calgary and throughout Alberta. I am excited to collaborate with colleagues across business lines and geographies, drawing upon the company’s best-in-class knowledge pool and global resources to help my team succeed,” he said.
