CCA awards Canada’s construction leaders in 2013

The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) recognized 12 individuals, associations and firms for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the industry, their communities and to Canada. The awards ceremony took place on March 11 in Panama City, Panama as part of the CCA’s annual conference.

“The Canadian construction industry consistently demonstrates its ability to achieve excellence, whether through innovation, community stewardship or environmental achievement,” said Frank Rizzardo, 2013 CCA chairman. “As an association, we are proud to recognize these accomplishments each year through the CCA National Awards.”

The 2013 CCA National Award recipients are:

Awards of Recognition

  • General Contractor Award of Recognition – Anibal Valente, PCL Construction
  • Trade Contractor Award of Recognition – Les LaRocque, Botting and Associates
  • Civil Infrastructure Award of Recognition – Wayne Morsky, Morsky Management Group
  • Civil Infrastructure Certificate of Recognition – Chris Lorenc, Manitoba Heavy Construction Association
  • Manufacturers, Suppliers and Services Award of Recognition – Zey Emir, Revay and Associates

Awards of Excellence

  • Gold Seal Association Award – Grand Valley Construction Association
  • Community Leader Award – Paul Douglas, PCL
  • Partner Association Award – Construction Association of Nova Scotia
  • International Business Award – Aecon
  • Environmental Achievement Award – Maple Reinders
  • Excellence in Innovation Award ­– Hoban Equipment
  • Person of the Year Award – William (Bill) Gyles, Kinetic Construction
