Canadian among ARA award recipients

B.C.’s Rob Potter to be recognized for outstanding service to the equipment industry at the upcoming ARA Show.

Rob Potter of Cooper Equipment Rentals in Richmond, B.C., is one of 10 Leadership Impact Award winners, which recognize an individual in each of the American Rental Association (ARA) 10 regions whose leadership benefited their state, province or local association and its members over the past year. His award for Region 10, and several others, will be presented at the ARA Show in February.

The ARA’s Industry Ambassador Award, which recognizes long-term leadership and service to the association at the national, state, or local levels, will be posthumously presented to Frederick “Fred” Dupy. A tireless advocate for industry, he passed away in May of this past year.

The Exemplary Service Award is going to Jeff Lignugaris, president of Northside Tool Rental in Atlanta, Ga. The ARA Industry Impact Award winner is Jody Kerr, manager at Toro in Bloomington, Minn. And the Rising Star Award will go to Dillon Hughes, owner of Only 1 Rentals in Navasota, Texas.

  • Region Seven: Brady Castro, PRO EM National Event Services, Phoenix, Ariz.
  • Region Eight: Megan “Mac” Whittlesey, CERP, Ideal RentAll, Mount Vernon, Wash.
  • Region Nine: Jared Medaris, CERP, Expo Party Rentals, Fresno, Calif.

The awards will be presented during the ARA Show, which will take place in Orlando, Fla., from February 11 to 15.
