Bird Construction Inc. announces cancellation of $95M contract

Bird Construction Inc. recently issued a statement saying that the company has been verbally notified that its $95-million contract with Alberta Infrastructure to build the Alberta Public Safety and Law Enforcement Training Centre in Fort Macleod, Alta. has been cancelled.

The contract was originally announced by Bird Construction on July 5, 2012. The value of the contract was going to be added to Bird’s backlog in the third quarter.

Construction on the facility had not yet begun on the centre, which was scheduled to be complete by the fall of 2014.
