Cement production up 10% year-over-year

Cement manufacturers produced 0.82 million tonnes of cement products in December, down 26.1% from November, according to the most recent numbers from Statistics Canada.

However the year-over-year numbers for December are up 10.3% over 2014.

Shipments of domestic cement decreased 27.1% from November to 0.79 million tonnes in December, but were up 5.5% from the same month a year earlier. Including imports, shipments decreased 20.1% to 0.88 million tonnes.
