PCL Construction is adding another facet to its evolving software platform.

The contractor announced a new partnership with technology firm Giatec Scientific Inc. Sept. 17 . PCL plans to integrate the Ottawa-based company’s concrete sensor technology into its single-pane software package, known as Jobsite Insights.

“The integration of Giatec’s technology adds yet another field driven need around concrete testing, real time data collection, and data driven decision making, fully enabling smart construction and making it a reality for the industry.” Mark Bryant, PCL’s CIO, said in a release.

“The technology ecosystem of today needs to be enabled through smart partnerships, smart platforms, and smart technologies that can drive immediate value and efficiency at the workface of construction,” Bryant added.
