BM Group acquires Vancouver Ready Mix, Fraserway Prekast, adding to portfolio of construction firms

The BM Group of Companies has added two concrete firms to its growing portfolio of construction and development businesses.

The Coquitlam, B.C.-based company announced July 9 it has acquired Vancouver Ready Mix Inc. and Fraserway Prekast Ltd. in separate deals that will expand its Materials Supply division and increase its exposure to the precast concrete market.

“BM Group now represents fourteen active independent businesses, offering a comprehensive network of complementary businesses to our clients,” Balraj Mann, the company’s chairman and CEO, said in a release. “Our financial strength matched by our portfolio of businesses brings cost savings, time efficiencies, and other benefits to our clients.”

Vancouver Ready Mix operates a plant in Langley, B.C. and provides concrete to a range of projects across the Vancouver area and beyond. 40-year-old Fraserway Prekast manufactures a pre-cast concrete components for municipal and residential work, as well as numerous other segments of the market.

The financial terms of the deals were not disclosed, but BM Group said equipment and property are included in each. Both companies will be tucked under the BM Group banner while maintaining their own brands.
