Cooper Equipment Rentals Ltd. is adding two East Coast dealerships to its list of rental locations with the acquisition of the Atlantic Canada assets of Herc Rentals Inc.
The Mississauga, Ont.-based dealer announced the purchase Sept. 17, with Doug Dougherty, the company’s CEO, adding that the deal makes Cooper a fully national company with operations coast to coast.
“It allows us to support customers throughout Atlantic Canada with best-in-class service, and positions us well to continue building out our branch density and specialized service offering throughout all regions of Canada,” Dougherty said in a release.
The acquisition covers two full-service branches in Dartmouth, N.S. and Saint John, N.B.
“I believe the solid team of rental professionals at Herc Atlantic will integrate well with, and ultimately contribute to, the Cooper culture,” Darryl Cooper, the dealer’s president, said in a release. “Herc Atlantic’s late model equipment fleet and excellent branch facilities will allow our new team members to deliver the high level of service that Cooper customers across the country have come to expect.”
Cooper has more than 40 rental locations across British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and now the Maritimes.
