The City of Windsor is working against the clock to complete construction of a competitive pool by April, in time for the International Children's Games on Aug. 14. While massive 42-metre steel trusses will support the pool building's roof, the city is turning to modular stainless steel construction beneath to complete the main pool on schedule.

The pool is part of the city's $78-million Family Aquatic Complex, which will ultimately feature a competitive 25-by-71-metre stainless steel pool on one side of the complex, and a wave pool, water slides and additional attractions on the other. The complex is being built under a joint venture between EllisDon Corporation and Windsor's DeAngelis Construction Inc.
