SNC-Lavalin will carry out more than $425 million in project management, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services for the Renard Diamond Project in Quebec’s James Bay region.

SNC-Lavalin will provide EPCM services for the mineral processing plant, a liquid natural gas power plant and other on-site utilities, including service buildings, water treatment facilities and infrastructure. SNC-Lavalin previously participated in the front-end engineering phase of the project, which began in 2012.

The Montreal-based project team will incorporate specialized diamond processing and recovery expertise through collaboration with DRA Americas Inc. and AMEC Americas Ltd. Ore production at Renard will exceed 2.16 million tons per year, with an average diamond production of 1.6 million carats per year.

SNC-Lavalin expects to complete the project by December 2016.
