The owners of a wildlife and agricultural observation centre in Quebec have purchased a steel building in order to construct a winter home for giraffes.
Daniel Gagnon and Suzie Girard, owners of le Zoo De Falardeau in St. David de Falardeau, Que. (about 235 km north of Quebec City), bought a 50 ft. x 95 ft. x 21 ft. steel building from Allied Steel Buildings and expect construction of the structure will open before the end of the year.
Since opening the centre in 2009, Gagnon and Girard have been helping animals overcome distress until they are ready to return safely into the wild. They have also acquired various wild species, mammals, birds and reptiles that people can observe in their natural habitat.
