E.S. Fox Ltd. has been awarded a $2M contract as part of the Irving Pulp & Paper mill modernization project announced in March.

The project involves the design, fabrication, delivery, site installation and testing of modular utility racks. The racks consist of a structural steel frame with long pipe sections and will connect the existing facilities with the new continuous cooking plant at Irving Pulp & Paper in Saint John, N.B.

The project will involve seven employees from Saint John, N.B.-based E.S. Fox and 25 trades workers, including ironworkers and pipefitters. In addition, close to 40 jobs will be generated by E.S. Fox through subcontract work. Lenron Transport in Saint John, N.B. will deliver finished modules from the fabrication shop to the pulp mill. Titan, located in St. Antoine, N.B., will employ 30 people in steel fabrication for the project. The project will be completed in mid-December 2014.

Steve Doyle, area manager for E.S. Fox Ltd., said forest products manufacturers have been a mainstay of jobs for the company for 60 years. “The modernization of the pulp mill is the largest single site contract for our company.”
