Cement production down in September: StatsCan

Canadian cement production was down in September, according to the most recent report from Statistics Canada released this week.

Cement manufacturers produced 1.2 million tonnes of cement products in September, down 2.8 per cent from August.

On the up-side, shipments of domestic cement increased 6.2 per cent to 1.3 million tonnes, according to Stats Can. Including imports, shipments were up 5.6 per cent to 1.4 million tonnes.
