Infrastructure bike path Building Canada Fund QuebecLA DORÉ, QC – The governments of Canada and Quebec and the Municipality of La Doré will each invest $575,000 in a 13-kilometre bicycle path linking the Zoo sauvage de Saint-Félicien and the Moulin des Pionniers. This assistance comes from the New Building Canada Fund, Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component—Small Communities Fund.
“Once completed, this project will offer the community and visitors a safe cycling network and encourage activities such as running, walking and biking. It will also increase tourism amenities in the region, already renowned for its Véloroute des bleuets, and thereby contribute to economic development. It’s because of our work to develop our economy and manage public funds responsibly that we have the necessary flexibility to make new investments like the one announced today. This project also echoes the work the Regional Economic Summit and the Tourism Working Group have done to underscore the importance of maintaining and improving recreational and tourist infrastructure like the regional cycling network,” said Philippe Couillard, Premier of Quebec, responsible for the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Region and Member of the National Assembly for Roberval.
