Concrete Construction LEED Skills Development

The Cement Association of Canada (CAC) is looking to get members of the construction industry throughout Canada better acquainted with concrete.

The CAC will host seminars and meetings titled, Rediscover Concrete in every province where they will discuss the material’s benefits when used in building and infrastructure projects.

“Our seminars will engage decision makers across the country and encourage discussions surrounding the sustainability of cement and concrete for building and infrastructure projects,” stated CAC president and CEO Michael McSweeney. “Using concrete for building and infrastructure projects is ideal because of its cost-effectiveness, durability, energy-efficiency and reduction of CO2 emissions.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to two seminars: “Moving towards more energy-efficient, greener buildings” for architects, structural engineers, designers, building officials and other building industry professionals; and “Moving towards a more sustainable transportation infrastructure” geared towards engineers and government decision makers involved in transportation infrastructure projects.
