The Ontario Hot Mix Producers Association (OHMPA) is calling on drivers to share photos of their favourite provincial roads as part of its second annual #ONGreatRoads contest.

Ontario contains roughly 200,000 kilometres of asphalt roads considered to be some North America’s smoothest, most sustainable and most scenic.

To enter the contest tweet an original picture of an open Ontario road (not a construction site) to @OHMPA using the hashtag #ONGreatRoads or post it on Facebook at www.facebook.com/OntarioHotMix between May 16 to July 4.

Weekly winners will receive a $75 gas card and one grand prize winner will win a $500 gas card. The winning photo will also be featured in the Fall 2014 edition of Asphaltopics, OHMPA’s magazine which is published three times a year.

“We launched our first #ONGreatRoads contest last summer to good response, but this year we want to really expand our reach,” said OHMPA’s executive director Doug Duke. “As an association, our goal is to promote excellence in asphalt pavement and we want to see that excellence through the public’s eyes.”
