Construction Infrastructure GO trains GO Transit Metrolinx Ontario rail

Georgetown_GO_Train_EastboundOntario is making it easier for commuters in Mississauga and Milton to access public transit by introducing new GO train trips along the Milton and Mississauga GO corridors and adding more parking spaces.

Starting September 6,  Metrolinx is adding one new morning and one new afternoon GO train trip between Milton and Toronto that will stop at all stations along the Milton line, including those in Mississauga: Lisgar, Meadowvale, Streetsville, Erindale, Cooksville and Dixie. The new trips will run as follows:

  • A new trip will depart from Milton GO Station at 5:59 a.m. each weekday, making all stops to Union Station and arriving at 7:00 a.m.
  • A new trip will depart from Union Station at 5:55 p.m. each weekday, making all stops to Milton GO Station and arriving at 6:54 p.m.
  • Over 250 parking spaces at the Streetsville GO Station, bringing the total number of available spaces to more than 1,700.

Metrolinx is working with the Town of Milton, through a multi-stakeholder advisory group, to explore a full range of solutions that address Milton’s unique transit and congestion challenges. As well, Metrolinx is looking at rail capacity opportunities to accommodate future growth and development in the area.

Construction will begin this fall in both cities, and is expected to be completed in early 2018.
