KBR has been awarded a general works contract for phase two construction of a raw gas processing plant in Dawson Creek, B.C.

The global engineering, construction and services company’s Canadian subsidiary, KBR Wabi, will perform the construction and related site support for the facility’s expansion, which will allow it to increase its capacity to 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). During phase one as of the Dawson Creek plant project, KBR performed  work for delivering piperack fabrication and module assembly.

Karl Roberts, senior vice-president, KBR Canada, recently stated that the contract represents an opportunity for KBR to further expand its business in the expanding shale gas market in British Columbia.

KBR is headquartered in Houston, Tex. and employs approximately 27,000 people worldwide.
