ICRI awards outstanding Canadian concrete repair projects

Repair work completed at a water treatment plant in Alberta headed the winners of the International Concrete Repair Institute’s (ICRI) 2013 awards, recently given out to concrete repair projects in Canada, the U.S. and Poland.

The project team at EPCOR’s Gold Bar Water Treatment Plant in Edmonton – EPCOR, Read Jones Christopherson (RJC) and general contractor Sure-Form Construction Ltd. – received the International Award for Excellence in Sustainability of Concrete Repairs, according to a report in Construction Canada.

The project included implementing a maintenance program for the deteriorating primary clarifier tanks, as well as considerable structural repairs, waterproofing, and protection of concrete elements and connections.

Other Canadian winners were Vector Construction (Longevity/Sustainability) for the Winnipeg, Man. aqueduct water-leakage repair, and CarbonFibre (Transportation) for the Turcot Interchange CFRP repairs in Montréal, Que.
