Graham Group Ltd. recently made a significant donation to Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) in Kelowna, B.C., getting the hospital one step closer to its $6-million fundraising goal.

The Calgary, Alta.-based construction company donated the money to KGH through the KGH Foundation’s Take Care, Take Part campaign.

Money raised through the campaign will go towards equipment in the new Centennial Tower, a six-storey patient care tower that will consist of a new emergency department that will be four times the hospital’s current size, as well as an expanded ambulatory care department.

According to the hospital’s 2010-11 annual report, KGH treated 57,283 in emergency care, 56,330 in ambulatory care, performed 29,504 surgeries, had 19,697 inpatients and delivered 1,578 babies for its financial year ending March 31, 2011.
