EllisDon president and CEO named 2013 Ontario EY Entrepreneur Of The Year

EllisDon president and CEO Geoff Smith received the 2013 Ontario EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award on Oct. 24 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

The Canadian program is in its 20th year of honouring the country’s most impressive entrepreneurs from all areas of business. Award finalists are chosen based on their vision, leadership, financial success and social responsibility.

Following more than a decade in several management positions, Smith became president and CEO of EllisDon in 1997 and helped transform it from a Canadian contractor to a global construction services company with annual revenues of more than $3 billion. 

“It’s amazing to see how we have evolved and transformed in a typically traditional industry,” said Smith. “I could not be more honoured to have been chosen amongst such great finalists.”
