Cement manufacturers produced 0.79 million tonnes of cement products in March

Cement manufacturers produced 0.79 million tonnes of cement products in March, an increase of 47.1 per cent compared with February, and a gain of 3.5 per cent from March 2015.

Shipments of domestic cement rose 45.9 per cent from the previous month to 0.69 million tonnes in March. Compared with the same month a year earlier, shipments of domestic cement grew 2.2 per cent.

Including imports, shipments were up 33 per cent from the previous month to 0.70 million tonnes in March and were up 4.2 per cent from March 2015.
