TORONTO, Ontario – In support of wounded warriors from around the world, Carillion is pleased to be a Games Supporter of the Invictus Games Toronto 2017 presented by Jaguar Land Rover. Working with the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, the Invictus Games host First Nation, Carillion will manage the movement of vehicles and people at the Fort York Historical Site Archery event. This location is of particular significance for the Mississaugas due to its cultural and traditional history.

“We are honoured to show our appreciation for the men and women who selflessly serve their nation,” said Jim Ferron, Carillion’s vice president Capability Development and retired Major-General of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Carillion Civil Infrastructure Maintenance employees, who work primarily in our highway solutions business, have traffic control plans well under way for the archery event. Along with our volunteers from the Mississaugas, Carillion volunteers will ensure that spectators have easy and safe access to and from the event.

The Invictus Games Toronto 2017 take place Sept. 23-30 at various locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

The Invictus Games are the only international multi-sport event for wounded, ill and injured active duty and veteran service members.  Established by Prince Harry in 2014, the Invictus Games use the power of adaptive sport to promote the recovery of wounded warriors and to shine a light on the unique challenges facing soldiers and military families. This year the Games will host more than 550 competitors from 17 nations participating in 12 adaptive sports, with all the events being held in the Greater Toronto Area.
