Aecon joint venture wins $100M pipeline contract

Aecon Group Inc. and Robert B. Somerville Co. Limited will work together on a contract to work on facilities related to the Cold Lake and Polaris pipelines in Alberta.

The $100-million joint venture contract, awarded by Inter Pipeline Fund, will include: the construction of pumping stations, metering facilities, junction sites and associated pipeline connections at multiple sites. 

The work is scheduled to start this month and has an expected completion date of 2014.

Aecon and Somerville were awarded a $600-million contract for the installation of 560 km of underground pipeline for expanding the Cold Lake and Polaris pipelines in July 2012.
