MONTREAL – The Association patronale des entreprises en construction du Québec announced the nomination of Rose Fierimonte as chair of the board of directors of the APECQ. She is the first woman to be appointed chair of this organization since it was founded 120 years ago. She was nominated during the general assembly held April 6, 2017.

Fierimonte is the president of Dorbec Construction Inc. and Rose Construction Inc. She has a solid reputation as a general contractor with more than 25 years’ experience. She is also the president and CEO of the specialized investment companies: Développement Dorich inc. and Médico Construction inc. Over the years, her companies have gained renowned expertise in construction, modernization and expansion of urban commercial centres, institutional buildings, as well as residential multiplexes. Fierimonte is also the outgoing founding president of the ELLES de la construction, an organization of women in the field of construction, which she chaired from 2013 to 2016.

“I am extremely proud to be appointed chair of the BOD of the oldest employers association in construction in Québec. This association has significantly affected the very fabric of Montreal and has even become part of its DNA. I would like to believe that my nomination and my career path will serve as an example to ambitious women who are eager to pave their way in this field that is not always welcoming to women. My personal goal is for the BOD of the APECQ to gain greater parity during my presidency” stated Fierimonte.

Fierimonte has sat on the BOD of the APECQ since 2013. She has chaired different committees under the BOD, including the Ethics and Governance Committee and the Human Resources Committee. She also held the position of vice president and treasurer of the organization. She will succeed Marco Santoriello, president of Coffrage Santco. “Ms. Fierimonte’s appointment as president of the APECQ will ensure continuity of the work we have accomplished over the last few years and her vast knowledge of construction will serve as an asset to guarantee the sustainability and growth of the association”, stated Santoriello.
