cake1Celebrating its 30th year, the Atlantic Heavy Equipment Show (AHES) saw a record-breaking 14,700 visitors over two days. Located at the Moncton Coliseum in New Brunswick, AHES is the most comprehensive heavy equipment show on the East Coast, and a must-attend event for heavy equipment, roadbuilding, forestry, landscaping and municipality sectors.

“Thursday was a day for sales,” said Mark Cusack national show manager. “The crowds were fairly steady, and those who were there came to do business. Unlike many years, where visitors mainly use the show to do research and spec equipment, this year there were a lot of sales happening right on the show floor.”

“Similar to 2014, Friday’s turnout was incredible. There were line-ups to get into the show and crowded aisles all day long, and it ended up being the single largest one-day tally in the history of the event. Pre-registration was way up this year too, thanks in part to participation in the Attendee Marketing Program, our increased use of social media, and the introduction of our pre-registration passport program prize showcase, which had well over a thousand entries.”

Visitors walking the show floor had the opportunity to connect with hundreds of exhibitors displaying cutting-edge equipment. Features for this year’s show included complimentary cake from the Atlantic Land Improvement Contractors Association (ALICA) in celebration of the show’s milestone anniversary; “Recruiting Here”, connecting job seekers with exhibitors looking to grow their ranks and hire new employees; and a variety of show-only specials and promotions offered by exhibitors at the show.

Additionally, brand new for 2016 was an exclusive pre-registration prize showcase. Show visitors who pre-registered by a specific deadline received a ballot for a chance to win a prize showcase valued at over $3,000! Prizes included: a Weber BBQ courtesy of Brandt; a plate compactor from Maritime Case Ltd; and an iPad Mini + $500 for use at the online Liebherrshop courtesy of Liebherr-Canada Ltd.
